PLWAS at Nkoranza raise public awareness about AIDS

Nkoranza (B/A) March 1, GNA – Hope Association, an umbrella organisation for People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWAS) has formed sexual abstinence clubs for the youth at Sessiman, Nkoranza and Asonkwaa, to prevent the spread of the pandemic. Mr Joe Amponsah, Chairman of Association who briefed the Ghana News Agency about the activities of the PLWAS, said they also organise weekly meetings to study the bible and attend workshops on HIV/AIDS.

The Association had also negotiated with the authorities of the St. Theresa’s Hospital at Nkoranza to offer free medical care to members. Mr Amponsah said the Ghana AID Relief Fund and the Catholic Relief Services had also been assisting members with food aid and Money. He appealed to all PLWAS in the area to register with the Association.
