Yellow fever reported in Jirapa

Jirapa, Feb. 25, GNA – Mrs Beatrice Kunfah, acting Jirapa District Director of Health Services on Thursday, announced the outbreak of yellow fever in the district.

At least, one case has been confirmed, while samples of ten other suspected cases have been sent to Accra for analysis. Mrs Kunfah announced this at a meeting of the Jirapa/Lambussie District Assembly at Jirapa on Thursday.

She said, as at now, there were no recorded deaths relating to the outbreak of yellow fever and urged people in the district to report any symptoms of the disease immediately for treatment.

Mrs kunfah said, following the outbreak of the disease, the regional health authorities at Wa have provided a consignment of anti yellow fever vaccines to the district for mass immunization exercise through out the district.
