Abuakwa (Ash), Feb 25, GNA- A member of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) has cautioned proprietors of the schools not to use the increase in fuel prices as an excuse to charge arbitrary fees. Mr Thomas Frimpong, Atwima District Chairman of GNAPS who gave the caution, said although the new fuel prices would impact negatively on the efficient administration of the private schools, they must not overburden parents with revised fees.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Abuakwa on Friday he expressed dissatisfaction about inadequate infrastructure and unsanitary conditions in some of the schools and asked the proprietors to improve upon the situation. Mr Frimpong advised his colleagues to be conversant with the government’s education review programme and also expose pupils to technical and vocational training. He asked them to employ qualified teachers and hold regular in-service training for the teaching staff.
