Dodowa (GAR), Feb. 20 GNA – World Vision Australia (WVA), an International Non-governmental Organisation, has made a donation of medical supplies worth 100 million cedis to the Atua Government Hospital in the Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region.
The items, included anti-septic hand wash, surgical mask, Supra shield sterilization wrap and Ampoule.
The supplies, which were handed over by World Vision Ghana (WVG) to the hospital at Dodowa, near Accra, are to be dispensed to needy patients.
Mrs Mercy Oforiwa Darko-Ankrah, Dangme West, Area Development Project Manager (ADP) of WVG, said the donation was in line with World Vision’s mission to help the rural poor in Ghana.
She said the ADP had been assisting the District Medical Team to immunize children under-five in the phase two of the three-day National Immunization exercise.
She said WVG was working in a number of areas including health and nutrition, education, food security, economic and water development as well as training traditional birth attendants, and “Wanzams”, teraditiona circumcisers, in the district.
Mr Romulus Ayivor, District Psychiatric Nurse in Charge of the Atua Hospital, thanked the sponsors for their kind gesture and asked other NGOs in the area to emulate the examples of World Vision.
