Butcher jailed 15 years for defilement

Tema, Feb. 18, GNA – A 23 year old butcher has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Tema Circuit Court ‘B’, for defiling a primary four school pupil.

Mahmud Osumanu pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement. Police Chief Inspector Ben Agbedanu, told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that at about 2000 hours on March 10, 2004, said the girl was returning from the bush after attending to nature’s call, when Osumanu lured her to his room where he detained her overnight and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

He released the girl the following morning and gave her 10,000 cedis.

Inspector Agbedanu said the victim told her elder sister of her ordeal, who intend reported the incidence to the police leading to the arrest of Osumanu.
