Thugs attack Oforikrom NPP constituency executive

Kumasi, Feb 14, GNA – Thugs, believed to have been hired by a faction of the Oforikrom constituency executive of the New Patriotic Party, on Sunday disrupted a meeting of the executive and organs of the party chaired by Mr Lawrence Akwasi Prempeh, the constituency chairman. Briefing the press on the incident at the constituency office in Kumasi on Monday, Mr Prempeh said the meeting was attended by co-ordinators, women organisers and electoral area secretaries, was to take stock of the performance of the party in the December elections, know their weaknesses and plan for future elections.

He said after deliberations, they were having refreshment when they saw some ”strange faces”. The ”strange faces” started breaking things and rushed on him but the members present guarded him. He said the thugs, numbering about 10, destroyed some office equipment.
