Armed robbers attack passengers on Kumasi-Bibiani road

Mpasatia (Ash), Feb 13, GNA – A group of armed robbers on Sunday dawn attacked and robbed passengers on the Kumasi-Bibiani road of several millions of cedis and mobile phones at Mpasatia in the Atwima-Mponua District.

The robbers, who wore military uniforms and wielded assault rifles, mounted a barrier and ordered about six vehicles to stop, robbed them and fled into a nearby bush.

A combined team of policemen from Nkawie and Abuakwa have mounted an intensive search for the robbers.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Samuel Akornor, who is leading the team, said the robbers were believed to be hiding in the bush on the outskirts of Mpasatia and appealed to residents to help the police to track them down.
