Tema Polyclinic receives $10,000 medical equipment

Tema, Feb 04, GNA — Mr Sang Pal Lee, the Korean Ambassador, on Friday donated medical equipment worth 10,000 US dollars to the Tema Polyclinic.

The items, from the Korean government, included weighing scales, X-ray film viewer, ultrasound machine, stethoscope, autoclave, wheel chairs, delivery instruments and baby cots.

Mr Sang said the donation signified the cordial relationship and cooperation between Korea and Ghana as well as the special affections of the Korean residents in Tema.

He said the current Korean population of 500 in Tema also strengthened the bilateral relations between the two countries. Mrs Cynthia Kwakye, the Municipal Director of Health Services, thanked the Korean government for the donation.

She appealed to the Korean government to assist the polyclinic to put up a maternity unit.
