Three vie for B/A slot on Council of State

Sunyani, Feb 04, GNA – Three persons, including a Reverend Father, have filed their nominations to contest elections for membership of the Council of State.

They are Mr. Michael Kwadwo Adusah, 71, the incumbent member, Mr Isaac Owusu Ansah, 40, an accountant and Venerable Peter Kwadwo Sakyi, 59, of the Nkoranza Anglican Diocese.

Mr Amadu Sulley, the Brong Ahafo Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, told newsmen that Prof Kwame Tuah, a lecturer at the University College of Education, Mampong Campus, collected a nomination form but failed to return it.

He said one Nana Ababio, a former Deputy Regional Secretary in the PNDC regime, was at the office on the last day to file his nomination but later rescinded his decision. The elections will be held on February 8.
