Twifo District Assembly exceeds revenue target

Twifo-Praso (C/R), Jan. 19, GNA- The Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Assembly, recorded 1.173 billion cedis as internally generated revenue in 2004, exceeding the projected figure of 1.140 billion cedis.

Mr Abraham Odoom, District Chief Executive, who announced this at meeting of the District Assembly on Tuesday, commended the revenue collectors for their commitment to work.

He said the Assembly would spend 20,777,338,960 cedis, on development projects this year.

Mr Odoom said the District Assembly had within three years (2001- 2004) built 47 schools, 14 teachers’ quarters. It also built three new clinics, upgraded a health centre to a hospital, sunk 33 boreholes and constructed 29 hand-dug wells.
