CEPS and custom officials arrests Policeman

Aflao, Jan. 19, GNA- Personnel of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) and the Ghana Immigration Service, at the Ghana-Togo border at Aflao, have arrested one Police Chief Inspector Paul Azaglo for interfering with their work.

Miss Yaa Kesiwaa Amponsah, CEPS Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Aflao Sector said Inspector Azaglo was interfering and obstructing their work.

She said he was overpowered when he threatened the personnel with a gun holster.

Mr Kofi Duku Arthur, the Volta Regional Police Commander, could not confirm or deny whether Inspector Azaglo was in the Police Service.

“I don’t want to say yes or no, I would enquire from headquarters”, he said.

The Inspector General of Police, Nana Owusu Nsiah also told the GNA in a telephone interview that he had to cross-check the identity of the culprit.
