Fulani herdsmen jailed for stealing cow

Aflao, Jan. 19, GNA – The Aflao Circuit Court, has sentenced two Fulani herdsmen to two years imprisonment on each count of conspiracy to steal and stealing a cow valued at three million cedis.

The sentences are to run concurrently.

Bello Ibrahim, 35 and Abubakari Abdulai, 36, pleaded guilty to both counts.

Three farmers who were identified only as Samuel, Horvey and Fofonye, who are on the run, have been charged for dishonestly receiving. Prosecuting, Police Chief Superintendent Mr Pius Cudjoe told the Court presided over by Mr Godwin Kwasi-Kumah that the complainant (name not given) who owns a kraal at Avevi in the Akatsi District on December 24, last year, noticed that one of his cows were missing.

He said the complainant found a wrist watch that belonged to Ibrahim and when confronted him, he admitted stealing the animal with the assistance of Abdulai.
