Fanteakwa Higher Institutions embrace health insurance scheme

Akim Osino (E/R), Jan. 15, GNA – Teachers in the second-cycle institutions in the Fanteakwa District have embraced the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as a policy that would enhance the health delivery system.

Institutions involved include the Begoro Presby Secondary School, Nsutam Presby Secondary/Technical School, Osino Presby Secondary/Technical and Begoro Presby Vocational School.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Akim Osino in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region, the District Registration Officer of the NHIS, Mr Ebenezer Dadebo, explained that the scheme would create awareness among the people the need to attend health facilities for treatment and check ups at affordable fees.

He hoped that the scheme if implemented fully in the country would improve the health of the people.

The Assistant Headmaster of the Osino Presby Secondary/Technical School, Alhaji Seidu called on the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school to patronize the scheme to enable them to enjoy the facilities under the scheme.
