Education workers asked to rededicate themselves to duty

Twifo-Praso (C/R), Jan. 14, GNA- A member of the Twifo-Hemang-Lower- Denkyira District Education Oversight Committee, Reverend Father Offing has advised workers of the District Directorate of Education, to be dedicated to duty and eschew any negative tendencies that would affect productivity.

He asked them to eschew absenteeism, drunkenness and laziness. Rev. Father Offing was speaking at an awards ceremony organised by the Directorate for seven retired and 14 non- teaching staff at Twifo-Praso.

Ms Regina Longdon, District Director of Education, urged the staff to rededicate themselves to work to reverse the abysmal performance of the District in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The District placed 97 in the 2004 BECE performance rating.

Ms Regina Amam, Headmistress of Jukwa Secondary Technical School, who chaired the function, said the awards scheme was laudable because it would boost the morale of staffers.
