Vetting of Ministerial nominees begins next week

The Appointments Committee of Parliament will begin public hearing on Thursday, January 20, this year to consider 34 nominees of the President for various ministerial portfolios, it was announced on Thursday in Accra.

A statement signed by Mr Frederick Nutsugah, Senior Assistant Clerk of Parliament, said the sittings would be held at the Speaker’s Conference Room at Parliament House in Accra at 1000 hours each day, adding that, they would be open to the press and the public. The statement said anyone who wished to observe the proceedings should be seated by 0945 hours.

The statement asked the public to assist the Committee with information in the form of memoranda in respect of the nominees. It directed that such memoranda should be submitted to the Committee not later than January 18, 2005, through the Clerk to the Appointments Committee, Office of Parliament, Parliament House, Accra.
