Fire Service personnel educate communities

Nkoranza (B/A), Jan 7, GNA- The Ghana National Fire Service personnel at Nkoranza is touring communities to educate the people to guard against setting bushfires in the district.

Mr Thomas Okyere, a sub-officer and leader of the team told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that they had started the educational campaign early enough to prevent bushfires.

Mr Okyere warned palm wine tappers not to carry naked fire to their workplaces during the dry season.

He urged the youth to monitor and cause the arrest of people who would engage in group hunting.

The team appealed to the Nkoranza District Assembly for means of transport to enable them to get to remotest areas in the district.
