Mankranso community to provide teachers with bungalows

Mankranso (Ash), Dec 29, GNA- The people of Mankranso are to provide bungalows for teachers of the Local Authority Junior Secondary School (JSS) in the town to ease accommodation problem of teachers. To this end, each household is to purchase a bag of cement and contribute 200,000 cedis towards the project.

Nana Obri Agyei Mankran II, chief of Mankranso, announced this at a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting to discuss how best to raise the standard of education in the town.

The school placed 17th out of the 37 schools that took the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the District this year. He explained that it had been found that the government alone could not fund education and that there was the need for the communities to supplement government’s efforts.

Mr Alexander Mensah, Headteacher of the school, asked parents to provide the needs of children to enhance their education.
