Oguaa records few accident cases during yuletide

Cape Coast, Dec. 27 GNA- The Cape Coast municipality recorded three minor motor accidents cases during the yuletide.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr Kennedy Amo, who made this known to the GNA at Cape Coast on Monday said the accident rate was far better than last year when fatal ones were recorded.

Mr Amo attributed the situation to the pro-activeness of the police and education of drivers on road safety measures.

He said on Friday December 24, only one accident was recorded at Pedu junction whiles two were recorded on Christmas day at Ekon and Kakomdu with the victims sustaining minor injuries.

Mr Amo commended drivers for their efforts and stressed that this shows that drivers now adhere to advice given to them by the police and urged them to continue to obey and observe all traffic regulation and should not drink alcohol whiles driving.

He also advised pedestrians to be cautious when using the road to avoid being knocked down by vehicles.

Mr. Amo said the general crime situation in the municipality have also gone down drastically and urged the public to help exposed the few bad ones in the society.
