Let’s give glory to God for successful election -Baah-Wiredu

Konongo (Ash), Dec 22, GNA- Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, has called on Ghanaians to give glory to God for guiding the nation through a peaceful and successful General Election.

“What all Ghanaians wanted was to have a President and other leaders of this country through the ballot box and this we have had and we thank God for that.”

The Minister also the re-elected Member of Parliament for Asante-Akim North, was speaking at a thanksgiving service at Konongo in the Ashanti Region.

The inter-denominational service was organised by the Konongo Local Council of Churches in collaboration with King’s FM, a local radio station.

The Very Reverend Emmanuel Asare-Kusi, Superintendent Minister of the Konongo Circuit of the Methodist Church, expressed the hope that the success of Election 2004 would inspire Ghanaians to forge unity and work harder to accelerate the development of the country.

He said the peaceful election was a gift from God hence the need for all Ghanaians to pray and work seriously to sustain it.

The Rev.Alexander Darko, Chairman of the Asante-Akim North and Asante- South Local Council of Churches and Pastor of the Konongo Assemblies of God, urged Christians to continue to pray for peace in the country.

Elder Osei Bonsu of the Central Assembly of the Church of Pentecost led an intercessory prayer for the President, members of Parliament, Ministers of State. 22 Dec. 04
