Winneba Secondary commends well wishers

Winneba (C/R), Dec. 15, GNA – The board of governors and management of Winneba Secondary School (WINNESEC) have expressed their appreciation to Nana Prah Agyensam, Member of the Council of State and Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, MP-elect for Edina-Eguafo-Abrem constituency for donating 100 bags of cement and five million cedis respectively towards the running of the school.

They also extended similar gratitude to Mr. K. Oppong for donating 50 bags of cement to the school and other well wishers who have been making positive contributions towards the administration of the school over the years for their continued support and encouragement. Mr Geoffrey Eduam Yarnney, headmaster of the school made the commendation on behalf of the board of governors, management and the entire students community of the school in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Winneba on Monday.

Mr Yarnney recalled the numerous financial and material assistance the school had enjoyed over the years and said it had gone a long way to facilitate implementation of development projects management had done for the school.

At its 55th anniversary at Winneba two weeks ago, Mr Yarnney announced that out of the 413 candidates, who the school presented in the 2003-2004 general certificate examination, 341 had passed in more than six subjects.

Mr Yarnney said new measures had been initiated to improve the situation next year and called on parents whose wards attend the school to play their part well by ensuring that their children engage in serious studies during long vacation periods.
