Galamsey Operator appears in court for defilement

Takoradi Dec.15 GNA- Emmanuel Tetteh, a 20 -year-old small-scale miner (Galamsey Operator), has been remanded in prison custody by the Takoradi Circuit ‘A’, for allegedly defiling a five-year old pupil in her house. The accused, pleaded not guilty and is to re-appear on December 22, this year.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor, said at about 1300 hours on December 5, this year, Tetteh who had been engaged by the mother of the victim, Madam Veronica Sekyi, to help roof her house, lured the girl into a room, when she noticed there was nobody around and forcibly had sex with her.

Madam Sekyi who had returned from the bush unnoticed with bamboo sticks caught Tetteh in the act and caused his arrest.
