NDC Candidate for Ledzokuku Wants Recount

Joy Online — Lawyers of NDC Parliamentary Candidate Nii Nortey Dua who lost last Tuesday?s elections in the Ledzokuku Constituency of the Greater Accra Region will file a petition at the Electoral Commission on Monday for a recount of the ballot in the constituency.

This follows what the candidate describes as irregularities and under dealings in the voting process in the constituency.

He says he has no confidence in the results as declared by the Electoral Commission even though his agents at all the polling stations endorsed the counting process at the various stations.

He is arguing that some anomalies had arisen in the serial numbers of the ballot that was used and this therefore requires a recount to authenticate the result.

He told JoyNews that the he is likely to win the polls if a recount is permitted.

Nii Nortey Dua lost by over nine hundred votes.
