Kwahu South and West Districts receive adequate election materials

Mpraeso (E/R), Dec. 6, GNA – The Electoral Commission Offices at the Kwahu South and Kwahu West Districts have received adequate electoral materials for distribution to all the 294 polling centers in the three constituencies of the Districts for Election 2004 to be conducted on December 7.

The constituencies include Nkawkaw, Mpraeso and Abetifi, where 10 Parliamentary Candidates including two independent candidates would be contesting the seats.

Mr Kwaku Konadu Kankam, District Electoral Officer, in Charge of the two Districts, said government departments and second-cycle schools had released their vehicles for the distribution of electoral materials to the polling centers.

The Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Roy Amuni said enough security personnel from the Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Immigration Service, Custom, Excise and Preventive Services had been mobilised to man the polling centres. He said 15 Police personnel dispatched from the Regional Headquarters to the Division to beef up the security situation had left for Donkorkrom in the Afram Plains District.
