Polling Agents trained

Akwatia (E/R), Dec. 5, GNA – Polling agents have been reminded that, they have a vital role to play in ensuring transparency, fairness and integrity in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 7.

They should, therefore, live up to expectation as watchdogs of the interest of their political parties and candidates.

The reminder was given by Mr Bismark Dei, Akwatia Constituency Returning Officer, at a day’s training workshop for polling agents in the Constituency, organized by the Electoral Commission at Akwatia on Friday.

The agents were further reminded that, the international community was keenly watching the electoral process and said it was, therefore, necessary that, the country’s democratisation was consolidated and deepened through clean elections on December 7. They were taken through a handbook designed to assist them to play their roles at the polling stations more effectively.
