NDC supporters at Sabronum defect to NPP

Sabronum (Ash), Dec. 4, GNA – Over 35 supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Sabronum in the Ahafo-Ano South District of Ashanti on Friday defected to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mr Victor Owusu, a Farmer and Spokesman, led the defectors to an NPP rally at Sabronum to announce their defection.

He said he served as a messenger at the Sabronum NDC Office, but having observed the performance of the NPP Government within this short period, he and his colleagues needed not to waste any more time with the NDC and, therefore, decided to join the NPP.

He said within the four years in office of the NPP Government it had built blocks of classrooms and maintained peace in the area something the NDC could not do during its eight years in power. Mr Stephen Balado Manu, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo-Ano South, commended the defectors for their truthfulness and welcomed them into the fold.

He called on the electorate to vote massively for President John Agyekum Kufuor and himself to enable the Government to continue with the good work it had started.

Mr Balado Manu said the town’s electrification project would be completed and the road rehabilitated when the NPP was returned to power. Mr Joseph Agyemang Dapaah, the NPP Constituency Chairman, urged the supporters to exhibit a lot of patience during and after the polls on Tuesday.
