Tuobodom chief wants police station and court reopened

Tuobodom, (B/A) Dec. 3, GNA – Nana Asare Gyamfi Kumanin, the Atepimhene of Tuobodom in the Techiman Traditional Area, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police and the Chief Justice to ensure that the police station and a magistrate court in the town were reopened. He said the absence of these institutions had led to increase in the crime wave thereby creating insecurity and affecting the development of the area.

Nana Kumanin who made the appeal through the Ghana News Agency at Tuobodom on Friday, said the traditional rulers and the people would assist in protecting the police and judicial officers who would be posted to the area in the event of the reopening of the two institution. It is recalled that violence erupted at Tuobodom on October 18, this year following a clash between students of Tuobodom Secondary Technical School and the Police over the allege arrest and molestation of Master Sylvester Abuki, form 3 student of the school, believed to had worn a pair of police boots to school.

The violence led to the loss of two innocent farmers Mr. Kwadwo Ameyaw 20, and Viah Dagarti 23 who sustained gunshot wounds during the incident.
