US University confers honorary doctorate on pastor

Kumasi, Nov. 30, GNA – The Nigerian Delta Campus of the Rescue Mission Theological University, Atlanta, Georgia (United States), has conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on prophet Columbus Appiah, founder and leader of the Miraculous Evangelistic Ministry International.

This is in recognition of his singular contribution and devotion to charity work, the institution said.

A citation read at his investiture in Kumasi on Sunday by the Reverend Dr Kwarteng Amaning, a member of the Select Board of the University, noted that apart from the ministration to the sick, Prophet Appiah has been active in his support for the socially disadvantaged in society.

He runs an orphanage for 21 orphans and is currently engaged in the construction of a building to give them decent accommodation. Prophet Appiah, 35, started full time pastoral work in 1988 and has opened eight branches of the church he founded in the country.
