Teachers advised to exhibit a high sense of professionalism

Effiduasi (Ash), Nov 30, GNA – Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, the National President of Conference of District Directors of Education (CODDE), has advised teachers to exhibit a high sense of professional discipline and competence to win the confidence and sympathy of the public. Teachers, he said, should refrain from acts that would impugn the credibility and dignity of the profession and also drive away prospective persons from taking teaching as a career.

Mr Obeng-Darko, who is the Atwima District Director of Education, was speaking at a send-off ceremony in honour of Mr John Osei-Frempong, the Sekyere East District Director of Education at Effiduase, on Sunday. Mr Obeng-Darko said the Ghana Education Service (GES) appreciated the selfless, dedicated and the over 36 years continuous meritorious services that he rendered to the country.

Mrs Dora Amaniampong, the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Director of Education, on behalf of the Ashanti Regional CODDE presented five million cedis to Mr Osei-Frempong.

Mr Osei-Frempong expressed his greatest appreciation and gratitude to the people for the honour done him.
