Woman arrested for concealing cannabis

Accra, Nov. 19, GNA – Abubakar Yakubu aged 26 has been arrested at the Kotoka International airport for attempting to export a consignment of gari in which parcels of processed cannabis weighing 95 kilogrammes had been concealed.

This came to light when the Customs Excise and Preventive Services undertook a physical examination of the consignment. Yakubu was then arrested and he mentioned the named of the exporter as one Buamah whose where about and contacts he did not know. Security sources at the airport said Yakubu claimed the three other consignments had been sent by the same exporter, but he could not tell whether they contained any cannabis.

The sources said investigations led to three other accomplices of Buamah, who are helping security personnel in their investigations. They are Louis Badu of Luis Gas, Richard Kofi Wurah unemployed and Edmund Flecher, operations officer of Glory Oil Limited.
