Day care centre commissioned

Akim Asuoso (Eastern Region) 27 Jan. ’99

A 25 million-cedi day care centre was commissioned yesterday at Akim Asuoso in the Birim South district with a call on the people to regularly maintain the building.. Miss Maria Remmeswal, a Dutch national who financed the project, advised that the building should be used solely for teaching children. In a speech read on her behalf, Miss Felicia Doku, the district director of education, expressed concern about the attitude of some parents who engage their children in trading on market days at the expense of their education. She appealed to parents to prevent their children from attending concerts and video shows. Mr Charles Berko, the assembly member, commended the donor for the facility.
