Politicians urged to promote national integration

Ofankor Ga Nov. 15, GNA – Mr Samuel Nee Aryeetey Attoh, Ga District Chief Executive and the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for Trobu/Amasaman Constituency, has called on politicians to be symbols of national integration during their electioneering campaigns for Election 2004.

He said the use of abusive language on political platforms was not enhancing the peace and stability needed for the development of the country.

Mr Attoh made the call when he addressed political rallies at Ofankor and Pokuase in the Greater Accra Region. He lauded the commitment of the NPP in the promotion of good governance, which he said, had led to the spread of development facilities in the Constituency.

Mr Attoh urged the people to vote massively for the Party in Election 2004 and not to allow material inducements or the campaign of lies by opponents of the Government to sway them.

He introduced some defectors of the National Democratic Congress, including the Chairman of the Hodem Amanfrom Electoral Area, Mr Prince Ampomah Wireko at the two rallies.

Mr Samuel Baidoo, NPP Constituency Chairman, told the Party members and supporters that it was an offence for any one to destroy party symbols and paraphernalia of rival political parties.
