Muslims in Winneba celebrate Ed el Fitr

Winneba, Nov 13, GNA – Muslim in Winneba and its surroundings villages on Saturday converged at an open space at Alatakokodo, a suburb of the town, to celebrate the Ed el Fitr.

Alhaji Gibril Abubakar Ahmadu, the chief Imam of the Winneba district who led the Muslims in prayers, prayed for peace in the country and God’s guidance for those in authority.

The District Chief Executive for the Awutu-Effutu-Senya, Capt Steve Kwamena Armah (RTD), urged Muslims to continue to live in peace and unity.

He urged them to ensure clean environment to avoid outbreak of diseases and said that the assembly had decided to build a 10-sector water-closet toilet at the Zongo community in the town.

Capt. Armah introduced the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary candidates for Effutu, Mr. Samuel Owusu-Agyei, and urged the people to vote for the NPP to enable it to continue the good work it is doing. He gave them 500,000 cedis towards the celebration of the festival 250,000 cedis to the NPP youth wings in the community.

The National Democratic Congress Party Parliamentary candidate for the area, Mr. Mike Allan Hammah, also addressed the Muslims asked them to vote for the NDC.
