Vehicle knocks down dead a student of Akomadan Secondary School

Akomadan (Ash), Nov. 13, GNA – Calamity struck the Akomadan Secondary School in the Offinso District Saturday morning, when a vehicle knocked down a final year female student of the school killing her instantly.

Grace Serwaa, 18, was in a procession with other students, who had matched through the town in connection with the celebration of the school’s speech and prize-giving day and were at the outskirts of the school when the accident occurred.

An eyewitness told the Ghana News Agency that the procession was just returning off the main road to the school when the vehicle, which was from the direction of Techiman knocked down and killed the student instantly.

The eyewitness said the driver of the vehicle sensing danger jumped down and fled, leaving the vehicle behind which was instantly set ablaze by the enraged students.

Meanwhile, the Akomadan police have mounted a search for the driver.
