Old students urged to assist alma mater

Tarkwa (W/R), Nov. 12, GNA – Nana Amponsah II, Chief of Wassa Subri on Thursday called on old students to assist in the development of their alma mater.

He made the call at a get-together organised by the Old Students Association of Huni Valley Secondary School (Hunivass) at Tamso near Tarkwa.

Nana Amponsah, who is an old student of the school said old students should pool resources whenever necessary to help their former schools meet their pressing needs as a way of supplementing the government’s efforts.

He expressed concern about the present bad state of the school and urged the association to decide on how to help to resuscitate the school.

Mr Solomon Amoah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, who was the guest of honour, commended old students of the school for coming together to form the association. He advised the members not to lose sight of the goals of the association to promote unity among themselves and to promote the development of their alma mater.
