US embassy gives credit union grant for HIV/AIDS awareness

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA – The US embassy in Accra has granted the Sika Savings and Cooperative Credit Union a 9.5 million-cedi grant for HIV/AIDS awareness campaign at Danfa, Adoteiman and Kweiman in the Eastern Region.

A statement in Accra said the Public Affairs Section of the Embassy gave the grant.

Mr David Queen, Director of the Public Affairs Section and Mr Henry Avevor of the credit union signed the agreement.

The statement said the campaign was to provide current AIDS information, community support and free testing.

As an effort to empower the community, the cooperative provides ongoing life training skills with innovative methods of saving to promote human development.
