Vote for candidates with vision – Agyabeng

Agona Akwakrom (C/R), NOV 1, GNA – Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Agona East, has called on voters to choose people with vision to rescue the country from its economic hardship.

He said it would be a disaster for the electorate to vote for candidates, who did not care about the plight of the people but would rather seek their own welfare and would not visit their constituencies after they had been voted into power.

Mr Agyabeng, who is the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Agona, said this when he inaugurated a 12-seater modern toilet facility for the town.

He stated that the people would be doing a great disservice to themselves if they voted for candidates, who could not deliver to reduce the poverty level in the area.

Mr Agyabeng stressed that the government had kept faith with the people and urged Ghanaians to return the NPP to power in Election 2004. He announced that the District Assembly had built 72 blocks of classrooms and rehabilitated existing ones within the past four years to ensure effective teaching and learning in the District.

Mr Agyabeng said the District Assembly abolished the payment of fees in public basic schools in the area to encourage parents and guardians to send their children to school and urged the people to take advantage of the package.

He said that the Assembly had provided scholarship for some students in tertiary institutions because their parents could not afford.

Mr Agyabeng stated that the District Assembly was working hard to enable the people to have access to credit facilities to improve their small-scale enterprises.

He gave the assurance that the Government would continue to safeguard the peace and stability that the nation had been enjoying to enhance the economic well being of Ghanaians.
