Ignore non-performing politicians -Akwasi-Kumah

Offinso (Ash), Oct. 28, GNA – Mr Joseph Akwasi-Kumah, Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Offinso South, has asked the electorate to ignore non-performing politicians and vote for development-oriented persons who could adequately improve their living standards.

Ghanaians, he said, were yearning for politicians with proven and tested experience and leadership qualities who could effectively articulate their views, problems and aspirations in Parliament.

Mr Akwasi-Kumah was speaking to the Ghana News Agency after addressing his supporters at separate forums at Kokote, Maase, Mpehin, Buasi, Abuasu, Dome, Dentin, Antoah, Asamankama, Namong, Adukro, Old Offinso and Ampabame, all in the Offinso District on Wednesday. He said he was not happy that Offinso residents, who were mainly cocoa, cola nut, coffee, palm oil and food crops farmers and contributed immensely towards the nation’s economy, continued to be impoverished. He attributed it to the lack of dedicated, selfless and visionary leadership and promised to offer quality leadership that would accelerate the District’s development.

“My aim of contesting the constituency’s parliamentary election as an independent candidate was to unite the Offinso people irrespective of their political affiliations and mobilise them to initiate programmes that would adequately improve their living standards”, he said. Mr Akwasi-Kumah said the tremendous support he enjoyed from the Offinso electorate was the result of his selfless and dedicated services that he offered to the District.

He appealed to politicians to address issues and offer alternative solutions to the numerous problems confronting the development of their areas and refrain from acts that tended to impugn the hard won integrity and reputation of individuals.

Mr Akwasi-Kumah called on the Offinso electorate to vote massively for him during this year’s election to bring meaningful changes in their living conditions.
