Chief’s wife donates drugs, equipment to health centre

Akropong (Ash), Oct. 27, GNA – Madam Mary Appiah-Kubi, wife of Nana Appiah Sarfo-Kantanka, Asante-Akroponghene, has donated drugs, equipment and bed sheets worth 150 million cedis to the Asante-Akropong Health Centre as her contribution towards improving health services at the Centre.

The donation was in fulfillment of her promise when she visited the Centre about two months ago.

The items include surgical instruments, curtains, disposable vaginal speculum, syringes and needles.

The rest were gloves, aprons, towels and stethoscope.

Presenting the items, Madam Appiah-Kubi appealed to Ghanaians to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme, which was the only way through which the ‘cash and carry’ system could be eliminated. She pledged to donate more equipment to the Health Centre. Dr Kofi Baah-Nyamekye, Medical Officer in-charge of the Centre, who received the items, thanked Madam Appiah-Kubi for her kind gesture. He appealed to Akropong citizens both at home and abroad to emulate her example.
