Ampem Darkoa Ladies will look to take a major step towards the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League semi-finals when they face Kawempe Muslim Ladies in Group B on Thursday, November 5.
The Ghanaian champions and their Ugandan opponents both opened the competition with victories, setting up a key meeting between the section’s early leaders.
Ampem Darkoa started with a 5-1 win against Mali’s USFAS Bamako, while Kawempe Muslim Ladies produced one of the opening round’s biggest surprises by beating defending champions AS FAR of Morocco 3-2.
Both teams have three points, meaning a win for Ampem Darkoa would take them to six and put them in a strong position to reach the last four. They will still have to face AS FAR in their final group match.
Ampem Darkoa head coach Charles Anokye Frimpong says his technical team is assessing Kawempe Muslim Ladies closely before determining its tactics and line-up.
The Ghanaian side’s video analyst has provided information on the Ugandan team, including its main strengths and weaknesses.
“We are taking one match after the other and now we are done with Bamako. My video analyst has given me the data that we have to look into it and look at how their strongest side, the weakest side and then we see how best we can come up with some strategies and set up our team to face them,” he said.
Ampem Darkoa will aim to preserve the momentum from their opening victory as they pursue a semi-final place on their second appearance at the competition.
