Missions Aid trains less privileged

Accra, Oct. 20, GNA – Missions Aid International, a Non-Governmental Organisation, is undertaking a four-month entrepreneurial training for less privileged people in the country, Pastor Emmanuel Nwachukwu, the Executive Director of Missions Aid International said on Wednesday. Speaking at the opening of a skills training programme, Pastor Nwachukwu said the training was in response of the Charismatic Renewal Ministry to meet both the spiritual and social needs of people in the society.

The entrepreneurial training would culminate in the provision of equipment to the participants to start their own businesses in areas such as dressmaking, soap making, and batik tie and dye Pastor Nwachukwu said the training project, which is in three phases, would consist of an orientation course for one week, three months of practical training and provision of machines and capital for the trainees to do their own businesses.

The Organisation, which started in 1998 in Nigeria, undertook many project works in Nigeria by helping the afflicted, the poor and victims of accidents.

Mr Anderson N. Madubiko, Counsellor and Head of the Chancery, Nigeria High Commission said Ghana is the first country outside Nigeria to benefit from the project because of the existing cordial relationship between the two countries.

He advised the participant to take the training seriously to impact on their lives and that of society.
