Bruce Appiah Files Another Writ Against Theresa Tagoe

Hon Theresa Tagoe, the incumbent MP of the Ablekuma South Constituency is in hot waters.

The reason being that the former assembly member for the Mansralor Electoral area and a contestant for the Ablekuma South Constituency, Mr. Alex Bruce Appiah has filed a writ at an Accra High Court to place an injunction on the electoral Commission (EC) not to register the incumbent for the December presidential and parliamentary elections. If this takes place, it would prevent Hon. Tagoe from going to parliament for the third time.

However, there are speculations that Mr. Bruce Appiah is being prevailed upon by some party stalwarts from carrying on his action.

In an interview with Mr. Bruce Appiah in Accra last Monday, he said he would not withdraw the case to allow Hon. Tagoe to go for a third time as an unopposed candidate. He would rather allow the law to take its own cause, because of his principles and a good Christian.

Mr. Bruce Appiah accused some leading party officials in the Greater Accra, namely Hon Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey regional chairman, R.O. Solomon, first regional vice-chairman, Nii Ayitey Boafo, regional secretary and General Secretary of the NPP, Mr Dan Botwe of forming a clique to protect Hon. Tagoe from going to the primaries which is contrary to the practice in the NPP.

He said these people are not being democratic in a party which is supposed to be democratic. He said what is good for the geese is also good for the gander and buttressed his point with that of the Ayawaso Wuogon constituency where a chair was used to contest in their primary between the incumbent MP, Hon George Amoo and Mrs. Frema Opore when Hon. Amoo failed to turn up.
