Poly Principals continue negotiations for salary increase

Accra, Oct. 19, GNA- The Conference of Polytechnic Principals (COOP) is to continue negotiations on implementation date for the payment of 15 percent salary increase for its members.

A letter dated October 15, and signed by its COOP’s Chairman, Dr K Nsiah-Gyabaah, invited the Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) for the negotiations at 0900 hours prompt at Takoradi Polytechnic on Thursday, October 21 2004. The letter stated that only the Central Executive Members of the Union should attend the meeting.

Mr Dan Ayim Antwi, General Secretary, TEWU, in a letter dated October 18, acknowledged COOP’s letter and said the Union would attend the meeting.

It said the Union delegation would comprise of the General Secretary, officers of the Central Executive Committee of the Polytechnic Local Unions and one Union representative from each Polytechnic.
