A new Ghana is being born – Akufo-Addo

Wa, Oct. 19, GNA – A new Ghana is the process of being born since the last four years, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs said at Wa on Tuesday.

He said within this period freedom of speech and respect for human rights had been made real and the rule of law made meaningful – “people can express their views without having to look around to see who is coming”.

Nana Akufo-Addo made the observation when he accompanied President John Agyekum Kufuor on a visit to the University of Development Studies (UDS) Campus at Wa, to address the students.

He said no Government since the overthrow of the First Republic had made more funds available to improve the quality of education in Ghana than the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government.

Nana Akufo-Addo said provision of facilities for education was one thing and the commitment of the students to use the facilities to further their education was another.

Nana Akufo-Addo said society was putting a great responsibility on the students to make the nation one of the most prosperous in the world, adding: “You hold the key to the future.”
