Dan Lartey Returns to Grand Coalition

The leader of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), has returned to the Grand Coalition of the GCPP, People’s National Convention (PNC) and the EGLE Partey.

Mr. Dan Lartey broke away from the coalition after he lost his bid to contest the December polls as presidential candidate of the coalition.

His return to the fold of the coalition is as a result of intensive lobbying and negotiations by leaders of the various parties in the coalition including those of his own party.

Mr. Lartey told JoyNews that he changed his mind after reflecting on what happened at the congress where he lost out on the elections.

He said he is convinced that the coalition would pull a suprise at the elections.

Mr. Dan Lartey was beaten by PNC’s Dr. Edward Mahama by an electoral college constituted by the three parties forming the coalition.

He chose EGLE Party’s Danny Ofori-Atta as his running mate.

Mr. Dan Lartey was subsequently undorsed as the coalition’s National Chairman with additional responsibility to unite all Nkrumahists to wrestle power from the NPP.

But just a few hours after the elections, Mr. Lartey announced a break away from the coalition accussing the leaders of the two parties of deceit.

But after intense negotiations, the GCPP leader has finally agreed to rejoin the coalition party.
