Teachers urged to upgrade their knowledge

Agona (Ash), Oct 13, GNA- Mr Kojo Prah, the Afigya-Sekyere District Director of Education, has urged teachers to avail themselves of the distance-learning programme to upgrade their knowledge. This, he said, would enable them to harness their full potential and expose them to the global technology trends in education.

Mr. Prah was speaking at a send-off party in honour of Mr J.Y. Atwereboana and Mrs Victoria Addae, both Assistant Directors of Education who were retiring after 35 years of active service. Mr. Prah asked teachers to render committed and dedicated service to facilitate the realisation of the government’s objective of providing quality education to all children. He expressed happiness that the District placed 18 out of the 110 districts in the country and third in the Ashanti Region in the 2003 Basic Education Certificate Examination. 13 Oct. 04
