Dotobaa, (B/A) Oct. 8, GNA – Mr. Karim Wiafe-Ababio, Assemblyman for Dotobaa in the Nkoranza District of Brong-Ahafo, has advised teachers to revert to the past when teachers visited their students in their homes as the practice promoted cordiality among teachers and parents and also instilled disciplined among the students. Mr. Wiafe-Ababio was addressing teachers in Dotobaa on Friday at a meeting to interact with them and to study the challenges that faced the schools to address them.
He emphasised that such visits portrayed teachers’ desire to work in concert with parents in promoting the welfare and development of the pupil and students.
The assemblyman urged parents to also reciprocate these gestures by returning such visits to their children’s schools to share ideas with the teachers and offer them support in their work in order that they would impart the rightful knowledge to the children to enhance their education.
Mr. Wiafe-Ababio advised the teachers to handle the students in the same way that they would train and educate their own children to enable them to develop morally upright lives to become responsible citizens. Mr. Wiafe-Ababio also urged students to accord their teachers respect and obey their instructions to encourage the teachers to teach them “from the bottom of their hearts”.
He advised them against regular attendance to video shows, concerts and dances and urged them to take their education seriously to lay solid foundations for their future careers.
On the up-coming election, Mr. Wiafe-Ababio cautioned the teachers against discussing political issues with their pupils and students in the schools.
