14 Presbyters inaugurated at Juaso

Juaso (Ash), Oct. 08, GNA – Reverend Ernest Ayeh Hanson, Juaso District Pastor of the Presbyterian Church, has advised Presbyters to be vigilant, shrewd, loyal, obedient, and united in order to move the church forward to ensure its spiritual growth and development. Rev. Hanson, who gave the advice at the inauguration of 14 Presbyters of the church at Juaso in the Asante-Akim South District, reminded them of the enormity of the task ahead of them for the next four years of office.

He, therefore, stressed the need for the Presbyter to handle issues with tact, now that they had taken that high office in the church, to assist the pastor and catechist in the administration of the church. Rev. Hanson entreated the Presbyters to be mindful of their utterances, since their actions and inactions could mar the progress of the church.

He urged them to see themselves as soldiers of the cross, because all eyes would be watching them as leaders.

Rev. Abraham Emmanuel Oppong, District Pastor of the Medina Presby Church, advised the Presbyters not to lord it over the congregation. Rather, he said, they should be humble, compassionate, and committed, by loving one another and working as a team.

Mr Patrick Kwasi Wiredu, Senior Presbyter, on behalf of his colleagues, expressed their sincere thanks for the confidence reposed in them, and gave the assurance that they will work diligently.

A copy each of the constitution and manual order of the Presby Church of Ghana were given to them to enable them to know and do what would be expected of them.
