Police investigating two murders at Tsito

Ho, Oct 08, GNA – The police said it was treating the recent killings at Tsito in the Volta Region as murder and would not link them with the land dispute between the Tsito and Peki traditional areas.

Mr Kofi Duku Arthur, Volta Regional Police Commander, told the GNA in an interview on Friday that there had been other killings in the area that were also being investigated.

Kudzo Girentsi and Yao Megbetor, both citizens of Tsito, were on October 4 found beheaded at Agata, near Tsito-Awudome on the Accra-Ho highway, with no traces of their heads.

Mr Arthur said the police were seeking tip-offs from the public to help solve the murders.

He said the issue of the murders in the area was a delicate one and advised the media to avoid reports that might offend the sensibilities of either side in the Peki/Tsito land dispute. ”There is security on the ground to ensure that there is no organised reprisal as being speculated.”
