Minister urges parents, guardians to get children immunised

Accra, Oct. 7, GNA – The Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs on Thursday urged parents and guardians to get their children immunised during the first round of this year’s National Immunization Days, which would be held from October 8 to October 10.

A statement signed by Mr Fred Essilfie, Public Relations Manager, said members of the public should be aware that the first step towards child protection was immunization without which children were at risk.

“It is important to remember that prevention is better than cure, since curative measures, sometimes fail.”

The Minister urged chiefs, church leaders and leaders of Mosques to announce the event to their congregations so that children between 0 – 5 years were immunised against the six childhood killer diseases.
