Chicago, October 4 2004: At the first meeting of the Ghana National of Metropolitan Chicago (GNC) after Ghanafest 2004, the Council expressed their profound gratitude to Ghanaweb, Western Union, The City Of Chicago,ATA Airlines, Newsradio 780,Annaka Enterprise, advertisers and art and craft vendors for their munificence towards Ghanafest 2004.
Ghanaweb gave the GNC over $2800.00 of advert space on their premium pages before and after Ghanafest 2004. The first-rated Ghanaian website, with over 50,000 page impression daily, have started opinion sampling of its visitors to promote Ghanafest 2005, which comes off on July 30th 2005 in Chicago.
The GNC also extends their thanks to The Ghanaian Herald in Atlanta, which then had a distribution network in Chicago, NBC website management and Chicago SunTimes for advertising the festival at no cost to the Council.
In another development, the GNC officially confirmed Mrs. Elizabeth Bekoe President of the GNC to complete the remaining term of Dr. Yahaya, who resigned a few months ago. In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Bekoe promised to work hard to bring the Ghanaian community in Chicago together.
The GNC has approved DVD copies of Ghanafest 2004 to be sold at $15.00 a copy to the public. Interested individuals could purchase copies by contacting the financial secretary, Ebenezar Nsiah at [email protected] .
